I love this place, especially bc this area is so limited in good restaurants. The front room is neat with its fireplace, but it is a small area so most seating is in the back booths. Their homemade chips are awesome. It is decently priced and food is good.

Good sized portions. My wife and I can easily split a lunch and both be satisfied. The Widow's Beef and Cheddar sandwich was very scrumptious. ðŸ‘

Widows is neat place with a nice inside bar. The outside has porch and sidewalk seating that is dog friendly. The servers are lovely. The food is decent. Still havent been overly impressed by anything flavor wise, but in have only had a couple items. The Chicken Sandwich is huge. The chicken was cooked to perfection, the bacon was delicious, but it could have used something. Maybe a different cheese than swiss? Nice beer selection too.

Food is really great here! Love to get lunch at this spot but sometimes service can be slow. Depends on who is in. If you have time it's usually worth the wait.

Excellent evening with friends. Dinner was delicious and prepared to perfection. Service with a smile. We have been to Widows tavern many times and I definitely recommend it.

We came on a midweek afternoon after a nice 6-mi walk on the Plainfield township trail (restaurant is right on trail). Nice outdoor seating on patio and sidewalk too. Excellent seasonal selection of beer on tap, wonderful service and freshly made food, delicious! We are vegetarians, and shared a Portobella sandwich (smothered in onions and peppers!) and a large house salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Sides were Cole slaw and excellent fresh sweet potato fries, not salty, not greasy, very lightly battered and just so good. We were really pleased with the meal and everything about the Widow's tavern, and we'll be back!

We arrived at 4pm on Saturday, not many patrons at all, we were seated promptly, but it took a while for a waitress to finally tske our order and a half hour to get an appetizer of bruscetta, a little long. Otherwise the food was delicious, my husband had the chicken parmesan and I had the Widows Chicken Sandwich. Good service and food, we will return again.

Place was amazing wings my doughter got wer the best she ever hadshe said the mackncheese bake my wife got was delicious creamy white cheese and the spicy clam shrimp plate was perfect balance of spice was so satisfying plus tje salads wer on point everything was on point

I just found this nice little gem. It's a half a mile walk from the truck stop. The atmosphere is very comfortable and inviting. So far the salad was great with their in-house balsamic, and my mouth is watering in anticipation of the crab cakes with broccoli. My waitress, Amber, is awesome and she does her job very well.

I have been here a few times with my wife and family. Although I can not deny there was a wait, I see that as a normal thing at a place with a good atmosphere and good food. We will continue to come back. We eat in and take out. Although tonight there was an issue that takes this down a notch from 4 to 3. Half of my 4 orders was wrong. I ordered 2 basic burgers with lettuce, onion, tomato, medium well. I got burger with cheese, and it was medium at best.

Great food and atmosphere! Joined family and friends there today for lunch. Everyone was pleased with what they ordered. I had the Widow"s Mozzarella Salad with salmon and the she crab soup. Perfection! I highly recommend dining here.
